01 · The bigger role

What changes when the role grows.

A bigger role is any step where the job grew faster than your week did: a promotion, a bigger team, a first leadership seat, or the same title with twice the remit.

It rarely arrives with a manual. Most people notice three things change at once.

  1. Your remit widens faster than your calendar does.
  2. Peers become your team, and your team needs a different you.
  3. Decisions get bigger, with less information and more people watching.

Two shifts.

Underneath those changes, the job itself moves in two directions.

From doing to leading.

What made you successful got you the role. Now the work is setting direction, building the team and letting go of the tasks you were best at.

From answers to questions.

In a bigger seat, the most useful thing you bring is often the right question: asked early, asked clearly, and asked of the right people.

More scope, a different team, bigger calls. None of it shows up on an org chart. All of it shows up in your diary.

Where your week goes.

Map the week you actually had, not the one you would like. Answer three quick questions about a few tasks and see where your time really went. It is the same Week Map we fill in together on the first call.

Lead

Couldn’t wait, and will still matter in three months.

Invest

Could have waited, but will still matter in three months.

Delegate

Couldn’t wait, but won’t matter in three months. Someone else could take it.

Drop

Could have waited, and won’t matter in three months.

In short

The role has grown. Your week needs to grow with it.

02 · The approach

Three phases. One direction.

Ninety days, in three phases. Each one builds on the last, so the change sticks.

PhaseWeeksFocusYou leave with
See it1 to 4What the role really asksA clear picture of priorities
Lead it5 to 8How you show up and decideA leadership voice of your own
Keep it9 to 12Habits that compoundA rhythm that lasts beyond us

90 days

Long enough to change how you lead. Short enough to keep the pace honest.

Six sessions, every fortnight.

Confidence in the role

An illustration of how it tends to go: self-rated out of ten at the start of each session. Progress is rarely a straight line. Most people take a step back early on, and it still climbs.

Where the hours go

An illustration: hours per week across the programme. The lines cross around week nine. That is the shift we are working towards.

In short

Small changes, held long enough to stick.

03 · Working together

Practical, honest, forward.

Sessions are direct and grounded in your real week. No frameworks for their own sake, just better decisions, made sooner.

Grounded in your real week.

The meeting on Thursday, the hire you are unsure about, the board paper due Friday: that is where the work happens.

How sessions run

  1. Every fortnight, 60 minutes, by video call.
  2. We start with what has moved since last time.
  3. We end with one next step you will actually take.

Between sessions

Short check-ins by message when a moment matters: the presentation tomorrow, the conversation you have been putting off.

What people say afterwards.

“I was putting the pressure on myself. It wasn’t coming from the clients. It was coming from me.”

“I have more energy and space to give to people at work. They come to me, and I actually have the time to help them properly.”

“I know they value me, and I know what I do is good.”

In short

The work happens in your week, not in the room.

04 · 90 days in a bigger role

Ninety days, by milestone.

From the first call to the final review, this is how the ninety days unfold.

Week 12 · Session 6 of 6 · Keep it

Review

What has changed, what is next, and a rhythm that lasts beyond us.

Each milestone builds on the last.

Is this for you?

Who this is for. And who it isn’t.

Coaching works best when it fits. Here is the honest version, so you can decide before we speak.

For you if

  • You’re in the first year of a bigger role.A promotion, a bigger team, or your first leadership seat.
  • You were great at the old job.And the new one asks for something different.
  • You want structure and a plan. Not just someone to talk to.
  • You’ll try something between sessions. And tell me honestly how it went.

Not for you if

  • You want someone to give you the answers.I’ll ask more than I tell.
  • You need support through a crisis or with your mental health.I’ll point you to the right people instead.
  • You want open-ended coaching. This is 90 days, with an end.
  • Someone else has decided you need fixing.Coaching works when you choose it.

Not sure which side you’re on? That’s what the call is for.

90 days in a bigger role.

The full 90 days after the free call, everything below included. One fee, paid once.

Everything included

  • The Week Map. Your week on one page at the first call and session six, with the old job marked. It shows where your hours go.
  • The Stop List. By session two: three things you do now that slow you down, stopped, in writing. The first space back in your week.
  • Your 90-Day System. A written way of running the role, in your hands by session six. What you run the quarter from.
  • The sessions. Six, one a fortnight, 60 minutes each, by video call.
  • The Three-Way Agreement. If your firm is paying, your manager or sponsor agrees the yardstick with us before session one, and can join the last fifteen minutes of session six.
  • Mine, theirs, nobody’s. By session four, the decisions on your desk sorted three ways. Every “theirs” has a name to go to.
  • A one-page summary within two working days of each session: what we decided and what is next. No notes needed.
  • Email between sessions, for the decision that cannot wait a fortnight. I reply within one working day.
  • A 30-minute check-in within three months of session six, to look at your 90-Day System in use. I arrange it.

All of it runs at the pace of your week.

What we measure.

We map your week at the first call and again at session six, on the same page. The aim is simple and visible: fewer hours on work that will not matter in three months, more on the calls only you can make. You keep both maps.

For individuals or firms. If your employer is paying, I can invoice against a purchase order.

In short

One call to start. Then the 90 days.

Leadership coaching

Grow into it.

You do not need it worked out before we start: that is what the 90 days are for.

The 45-minute call.
